Room Only Accommodation – AFT Houses
Room only accommodation, sharing large fully self-contained houses with other students on the course is available from $110 per week (see following room guide). This option is budget style accommodation and prices vary depending on room type required.
The houses have all facilities including fridge, oven, microwave, cutlery, crockery, cooking equipment, washing machine, pegs, TV, single beds with doona and pillows, etc. You will need to provide your own linen (sheets, towels and your favourite pillow if that is essential to you!).
The houses are not airconditioned or heated. If you require airconditioned comfort, we are happy to arrange motel or unit accommodation for you to suit your budget.
Due to the popularity of single room accommodation, we regret no guarantee of a single room can be made for late bookings. Please book early for the best accommodation options.

780 David Low Way is only 400 mt from the AFT classrooms and only 500 mt from a modern shopping centre with Bi-Lo, Bakery and Cafe.
A local doctor’s surgery and chemist are also located only 500 mt from the house.
780 David Low Way has 2 full kitchens, 2 lounge rooms, 3 bathrooms and 3 toilets, limited off street car parking and front/rear verandahs.

693 David Low Way is only 600 mt from AFT classrooms and directly across the road from a modern shopping centre with Bi-Lo, Bakery and Café.
A local doctor’s surgery and chemist are also located only 200 mt from the house.
693 David Low Way has 2 kitchens. 2 lounge rooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 toilets and laundry, limited off street car parking and front/rear verandas.

38 Keith Royal Drive is located 2km from AFT classroooms and 2.5km from shopping centre with Bi-Lo, Bakery and Café.
There is a small local shopping center, with small convenience store and takeaway food just 200 mt from the house.
A local doctor’s surgery and chemist are also located only 2.5 km from the house.
38 Keith Royal Drive has 2 kitchens, 3 lounge rooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets and laundry, off street car parking and front verandah.

Other Accommodation Options
Room Only – Shared Unit
Room only accommodation, sharing a 2 or 3 bedroom fully self-contained unit with other students on the course, is available from $140 per week. The price depends on unit availability, number of students sharing, time of year, etc.
The units are approximately a 20-30 minute walk from our classroom complex at the Sunshine Coast Airport. The units have all facilities including fridge, oven, microwave (available in most units), cutlery, crockery, cooking equipment, washing machine, TV, beds, etc.
Resort Accommodation
Room only accommodation at the Atlantis Resort Marcoola Beach, sharing a three bedroom fully self-contained unit with two students on the course, is available from $225 per week. The units are approximately a 10 minute walk from our classroom complex at the Sunshine Coast Airport.
Stylishly furnished serviced apartments feature fully equipped kitchen (microwave, dishwasher and fully stocked with utensils) and laundry (washing machine and dryer) as well as separate lounge and dining areas allowing students to relax in comfort and privacy. Swimming pools, barbecue and entertainment areas are also located within the resort complex. Most units are Air Conditioned.
Motel Accommodation
Motel accommodation is available through the Marcoola Motel from $340 per week. A variety of room styles are available including standard and self contained motel rooms with full kitchen facilities and air-conditioning are available. The Motel is a 25 minute walk from the Airport.
The Motel is set in the heart of the Marcoola resort precinct and 250 metres from the beach. Free transport to and from our classroom facility can be arranged with Michael.
Full Board Accommodation
Full Board Accommodation can sometimes be arranged from $220 per week. We have local people who take boarders into their private houses. Three daily meals (Mon – Fri) and washing is also included and all are within easy walking distance to the Airport (10 minutes). Students have their own single room and usually share a bathroom with one other student.
Student Meal Packages
Our local Runway Snack Bar has healthy, fresh, home-cooked meals available. Weekly meal packages can be purchased including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, dinner and super from $150 for 5 days or $180 for 7 days. The Runway Snack Bar is located within easy walking distance to the school and has a good range of lunch options available.

Does my accommodation deposit secure my preferred accommodation option?
All of Advanced Flight Theory’s accommodation is subject to availability so booking early increases your available accommodation options. While every effort is made to ensure all students accommodation preferences are satisfied, we can’t guarantee this in all cases. If your preferred option is unavailable we will contact you with alternative choices.
We make it our priority to ensure every student is comfortable and content with their accommodation arrangement.
When will I be advised of my accommodation details?
To minimise last minute changes, Vanessa Adamson our Accommodation Co-ordinator will contact you personally via telephone or e-mail 3-4 working days prior to course commencement. You will be advised of all accommodation details including address, cost, etc. The map provided within this package shows accommodation locations in relation to our Classroom complex at the Sunshine Coast Airport.
How do I collect my key?
To ensure accommodation security is maintained within our accommodation facilities, you will be advised of key collection details when contacted by our Accommodation Co-ordinator Vanessa Adamson.
What do I need to bring to my accommodation?
If you are not staying in serviced apartment or the Motel (i.e. AFT’s Student Accommodation) you will need to provide your own linen (sheets, pillow case, towels).
When can I arrive at my accommodation?
Accommodation is booked from the day before course commencement until the day after the exam. Should you wish to arrive or depart at a different time please contact our Course Co-ordinators.
Are there phone facilities at the accommodation?
Advanced Flight Theory’s student houses have a phone service connected for incoming calls only. For students wishing to make outgoing calls, we recommend the purchase of Telstra Phone Cards which are available from all major Newsagencies.
Phone facilities at other accommodation options differ. Our Accommodation Co-ordinator can provide details on these options. Students are responsible for any phone charges incurred.
There are several phone boxes located within easy walking distance of all Accommodation.
Does the accommodation have study facilities (desks)?
Most accommodation does not have study facilities. We have purposely made this arrangement so students can relax in the houses and watch TV, etc without disturbing others. Our classroom is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for quiet study.
What shopping facilities are available in the local area?
A new shopping centre encompassing a Bi-Lo Supermarket, is located approximately one kilometre from the Airport. The shopping centre has many specialty shops including banks, post office, newsagent, bakery, cafés, butcher, chemist, doctor and hair dresser.
Major shopping centres are located in Maroochydore which is a 15 minute drive from the Airport.
What happens to my accommodation deposit if I defer or cancel?
For students wishing to defer/cancel courses we are able to transfer/refund accommodation deposits if no accommodation has been secured. A minimum of 14 days notice must be given. If less than 14 days notice is given refunds will be assessed on a student-by-student basis.
Who do I contact at Advanced Flight Theory regarding my accommodation?
Advanced Flight Theory’s airport office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm. You will not be able to contact us at the airport office over the weekend if you have a problem.

Advanced Flight Theory – HOUSE RULES
Advanced Flight Theory provides economical accommodation in consideration of our students needs, in an effort to minimise costs associated with attending our courses. We ask that in return you are considerate of your fellow housemates and respect and abide by our House Rules.
Please keep the common areas of the house and your room neat and tidy. These areas are for your relaxation after a hard days study. Please ensure in the interest of health and hygiene, dishes are washed after every meal, food is to be kept in an hygienic manner and bins are emptied regularly.
The houses are professionally cleaned prior to your arrival, however professional cleaners are NOT employed during your stay to keep your rent at a minimum.
You are required to keep all kitchens, bathrooms and toilets clean. Remember you are not the only one utilising these amenities.
Please let us know if you are aware of any maintenance issues.
Please do not remove any furniture from inside the house. Furniture left outside obviously can not survive the weather elements. It is provided to make your stay in the house comfortable and convenient.
When departing for classes in the morning, please turn off any fans and lights that are no longer needed until your return. Leaving fans running can cause fire hazards.
We have a NO SMOKING policy inside AFT’s houses for the Health and Safety of all students. If smoking outside please ensure your cigarette butts are placed in the rubbish bin after being extinguished.
Instant expulsion will apply to anyone smoking inside the houses with absolutely no exceptions!
Do not tamper with smoke alarms and fire extinguishers as these essential items are provided for the safety of everyone.
Lighting of any kind of fire, discharging of Fire Extinguishers or tampering with Smoke Alarms (apart from genuine emergencies) will mean instant expulsion from the house with absolutely no exceptions!
Rubbish collection days are on Fridays. Please place bins on the curb Thursday evening.
As you have learnt or are learning in your meteorology course, rain makes things wet. Please make sure you close windows if inclement weather is forecast.
Please do not allow shopping trolley’s to follow you home. If they do, you are to return them immediately.
Please understand that you are living in a suburban environment. While we encourage you to relax and enjoy your stay with Advanced Flight Theory, complaints involving our students will be dealt with immediately. This includes noise complaints and unruly behaviour.
Undesirable behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances and houses will be spot checked throughout the duration of your course. Drunk and Disorderly behavior will result in instant expulsion from the house with absolutely no exceptions!
Upon leaving the accommodation, please wash the mattress protectors, doona covers and pillow case and leave your room in the same state you found it in. Please deposit your keys in the key box at the entrance to the house. Alternatively you can leave these keys with the office staff.
